The Holiday season has always been my favorite, despite what
others may think because of my not-so-cheery demeanor. From about October 1st-
February 13th I am my most happy and excited. The Holidays are the
only time my psycho family can seem to be around each other with the least
amount of tension or drama, and it’s also the time of year where I start
working my butt off and getting the cha-ching (money), which I can then use to
treat myself rather than just pay my boring bills.
I was a winter baby, and I feel more at ease in the cold.
While I don’t like being cold, having the ability to cuddle up, enjoy warm
drinks, and watch everything die and get sort of gloomy has always been really
fun for me.
While the Holiday season does bring me a lot of enjoyment,
it also beings me a great deal of stress. Working in retail with psychotic customers
all season is enough to make anyone go crazy, especially when you’re trying to
juggle school and 40 hour work weeks. Although the position where I’m at now
gives me a little bit more authority so I won’t TOTALLY feel like a chew toy
for the electronic-hungry masses, I have no doubt I’ll have my fair share of
mental breakdowns.
All around, should the Holidays fail to be fun, they
definitely will be interesting, I just hope and pray I’ll make it out in piece.
